Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy applies to all lesson purchases from WouldYouKorean (the CORE Diagnostic Session and the 10, 20, and 40 Session packages). We want it to be simple and fair. If anything is unclear, email us before you buy.

1. Full refund before you start

If you have not taken any lesson, you can get a full refund within 14 days of your payment, back to your original payment method.

Wise: the full lesson price is refunded.
PayPal: the lesson price is refunded in full. The 5% PayPal surcharge is the fee PayPal charges to process your payment and does not return to us, so that part is not refundable.

2. When your lessons begin (your agreement)

When you book and start your lessons within the 14-day period, you agree that your lessons may begin right away. This means:

If you cancel after lessons have started, you are charged only for the lessons you have used, at your package's per-session price.
You keep the right to a refund on the lessons you have not used, until all the lessons in your package are completed or until they expire (see section 5).

3. Refund after the 14-day window

After the first 14 days, you can still get a refund for the lessons you have not used, at any time within your 12-month validity period (section 5). This applies whether or not you have started. Your refund is simple to calculate:

Refund = Total you paid − (lessons used × your package's per-session price)

A lesson counts as used if you attended it, or if you missed it without giving 24 hours' notice (see section 4). If you have used none, you receive a full refund (less the transfer fee in section 6).

Example: You buy 10 Sessions for $420 ($42 each) and use 3 lessons. Your refund is $420 − (3 × $42) = $294 (less a small transfer fee). You only pay for the 3 lessons you used, at the same discounted price.

4. Cancelling or rescheduling a single lesson

24 hours or more before a lesson: you can reschedule for free.
Less than 24 hours before, or a no-show: that lesson counts as used.
If Maru needs to cancel a lesson, it is always rescheduled or fully restored to you.

5. How long your lessons stay valid

Your lessons are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Lessons not used within 12 months expire.

6. How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are sent back to your original payment method (Wise or PayPal) within 5 business days.

For a partial refund (section 3), we deduct the small fee the payment provider charges to send the money back to you (usually under 1%). The exact amount is shown when we process it.
A full refund before you start (section 1) is sent in full, with no transfer fee deducted.

7. How to request a refund

Email wouldyoukorean@gmail.com with the name and email you used to pay. We reply within 2 business days.

WouldYouKorean is operated from the Republic of Korea. This policy is written to meet consumer protection standards in Korea, the EU, and the US. It does not limit any rights you may have under the consumer law of your own country.
